Trochanteric (Hip) Bursitis

Trochanteric bursitis or hip bursitis is irritation of the bursa over the boney prominence on the side of the hip (greater trochanter). Bursitis is usually responsive to rehab, stretching, and sometimes, a cortisone shot. If it is still bothersome, arthroscopic management (which consists of an incision) can help to relieve pressure on the bursa along with removing the bursa.
